Dear Parents:

I’m excited to be teaching Science to your child this year. During the first week of school, I will go over the expectations for the students. Homework, tests, quizzes, bellwork, note taking and projects will be addressed. Behavior will be a topic that will be discussed at length. It is imperative that you address this with your child. There should be no confusion about the expectations. Please feel free to contact me at any time during the school year with any questions or concerns you may have. My e-mail address is ggrant@scsk12.org. Once I have your e-mail address, I can contact you with answers to your questions or potential problems if they arise.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Grant

Homework for the week of August 13, 2007

All of the homework assignments are due by each Friday. They are to be placed in the designated baskets for each class by the start of the class on Fridays.

The Lab Safety Contracts that went home for a parents ‘ signature must be returned by Friday. This homework does not include the studying that needs to be done for a student to be successful in this class. There will be at least one test or quiz per week and that requires that the student take the time to study the material  presented in class.

Every few weeks, I will ask the students to bring in an article from the News that relates in some way to science. I will ask them to respond to the article ( using an outline that I will hand out the first week of school ) The due date for the first Science in the News article is September 21st. Extra credit will be given to those students who turn their papers in by August 18th ( Tuesday)
