Monday

Today, students will get an introduction to the history of cells. The scientists instrumental in the discovery of cellsĀ , the reason behind their discovery, and the development of the “cell theory”.

Tuesday

Today, using their knowledge of cells so far this year, the students will be scientists. They will develop their own cell theories. We will continue to talk about characteristics of cells, things they have in common and things that make them different from one another.

Wednesday

All cells have cell membranes. Today we’ll talk about the cell membrane and there will be a demonstration to help discuss the function of the cell membrane.

Thursday

Today, the students will be asked to create a concept map. They will choose a human organ system and identify its component organs. They will then use a concept map to describe the relationship of the component organs to the system.

Friday

At the beginning of class today , we will have a review of all of the concepts covered this week.

There will be an assessment of all of the information covered in class this week.
