Welcome Back! We’ve got an exciting new year ahead of us and I’m looking forward to working with students as we begin the second half of the school year.
Monday
Our county wide Science Fair is going to be held in February. Students will be doing their project first on a school wide level and those winners will go on to the County competition. The GMS Science Fair is going to be on February 11,2008. Students will receive guidelines for the Fair on January 7,2008. We will address the methodology used to complete these projects on that day.
Tuesday
Today, we will begin Chapter 19, States of Matter. We will discuss the four states of matter and do section one of the science book. We’ll talk about solids, liquids, gases and plasma and how they change. Boyles’ law and Charles’ law will be discussed.
Wednesday
Today , the students will take notes on the Chapter. They will be doing work in groups and will be making posters depicting Boyles’ Law and Charles’ Law and they will be presenting their posters to the class.
Thursday
Today, students will do two section reviews. One on page 504 and the other , on page 507 in preparation for the test on Friday covering all the information in Chapter 19, Section one.
Friday
Students will be given an assessment on all information covered in Chapter 19 , Section One.
