This week we will continue with the study of Chapter 15

Monday

Today , we will talk about the air we breathe. We’ll discuss Air quality, and types of Air Pollution.we’ll talk about Human-caused air pollution, like industrial pollution and indoor air pollution. We’ll address the Air pollution problem and talk about Acid precipitation, The Ozone Hole and the effect of pollution on Human health. In Fifth period, we’ll finish presentations on Science Fair Projects and we’ll follow this lesson plan tomorrow.

Tuesday

Instead of having a regular test on Chapter 15, students will be asked to do the Chapter Review at the end of Chapter 15. They will have the use of their books to complete these questions ( 27). They are required to write the question and the answer n a complete reflective sentence. ( This is a skill that many are just learning to do, and it promotes Science literacy). This Chapter Review will be graded and counted as a test.

Wednesday

Today we’ll begin Chapter 16 — Understanding Weather . We’ll talk about the concept of relative humidity.Students will learn how to calculate it and look at charts showing how to ascertain the relative humidity.

Today , we’ll talk about clouds.Cumulous, Stratus, and Cirrus, high, middle and low clouds. We’ll discuss precipitation. The measurement of snow and sleet and hail . We’ll go over air masses and fronts.

Thursday

Today, we’ll talk about severe weather — Thunderstorms, Tornados, hurricanes. Their causes and their effects. We’ll discuss forecasting the weather using technology and weather maps.

Friday

Since we didn’t start this Chapter until Thursday, we will continue with our projects and delay the test until next Friday.
